"Live at the Hollywood Bowl" is The Doors' third live album, released on Elektra Records. The concert took place on July 5th, 1968, in their hometown of Los Angeles, California. The live album from this iconic concert was originally released on video in May 1987.

In 2012, The Doors re-released The Album in a re-edit of the original release in 1968. The biggest difference between the two releases was the camera angles used during the video. The concert was filmed by 5 different cameras, which allowed fans to experience the concert from different angles for an all-new experience.

"On November 4th, 2021, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Doors' final studio album L.A. WOMAN (1971), "The Doors: Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition" will transform movie theaters into concert venues, giving Doors fans around the world the closest experience to being there live along side Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Ray Manzarek, and Robby Krieger, who stated, "the magic that has been done to enhance the picture and sound quality of this show will make everyone feel as though they have a front-row seat at the Hollywood Bowl."
