This vinyl figure and box expertly recreate the cover of 1977's News of the World, which was originally painted by American sci-fi artist Frank Kelly Freas in the 1950s. "The album title, News of the World, came from a British Sunday tabloid, and the cover, with a robot having accidentally killed the band, was made by artist Frank Kelly Freas, who in 1953 had illustrated the cover of the October edition of Astounding Science Fiction. The cover featured a robot holding a dead man, with the legend, "Please... fix it, Daddy?" and was made to represent Tom Godwin's tale The Gulf Between. Roger Taylor, a science fiction fan, had the magazine and proposed that the band get in touch with the artist and ask him to change the concept, putting the band in the place of the dead man. The contact was made, and Frank Kelly Freas accepted the proposal."
